The keynote address will be by internationally renowned genetic medicine expert Dr Mimi Lee, MD, Program Manager of Health Science Futures at the Advanced Research Projects Agency for Health (ARPA-H) in the United States.

Dr Mimi Lee is a physician-scientist with broad experience in academia, clinical care, and the development of genetic medicines. She has led global programs in gene therapy and translational research for rare neurodegenerative diseases, and recently helped shape strategic initiatives in regenerative medicine. Her training spans neurological surgery, anesthesiology, and perioperative care, and she has held academic and leadership roles in both biotech and pharma.
Panel session will explore how consumer and patient advocacy groups are shaping the future of healthcare by actively collaborating in the development and delivery of innovative therapies. You will hear from representatives at the Foundation for Angelman Syndrome Therapeutics Australia, Genetic Alliance Australia, Childhood Dementia Initiative and Child Unlimited.
Panel session will host discussions between government and industry representatives, including the Australian Regenerative Medicine Institute, Ministry of Health and Therapeutic Goods Administration. They will examine the current successes and challenges for implementing advanced therapeutic research translation pathways.
Panel session will connect leaders in Australian paediatric health care and translational research to share their own journeys of advanced therapeutic translational research and the impact that national partnerships provide for sick children around Australia.
