Across Generations: Cohorts, Genomics and Precision Health in Australia and Japan
October 13 @ 2:00 pm - 5:00 pm

Dive into the future of health as we explore how generations and genomics are shaping precision medicine in Australia and in Japan.
How can multigenerational cohorts, genomics and linked health data be combined to understand how health and disease develop across generations and translate this knowledge into precision prevention?
Hosted by the Centre for Big Data Research in Health, the symposium will bring together researchers from Tohoku Medical Megabank, UNSW and Generation Victoria (GenV) to identify complementary cohort resources, methodological strengths and priority areas for Australia–Japan collaboration.
Particular themes will include:
- multigenerational and life-course cohort design
- integration of genomic, clinical, behavioural and linked health data
- maternal, child and intergenerational health
- genomics and precision prevention
- mental health, disaster and resilience
- medicines and other modifiable exposures
- ethical and societal dimensions of multigenerational genomic research
- opportunities for cross-cohort and international comparative studies
Register by 9 October as a light afternoon tea will be provided.
